Uber-Job-Ness
For some odd reason (possibly my lack of experience), the wonderful people of Statistics Canada have decided to hire me to tell n00bs that they're n00bs... I mean for technical support and testing. I'm going in today to sign various forms for a security check and such so that they can give me a job offer - but as I know my security check is clean, I've essentially got the job. And I get paid 12.47$ an hour, for at least 7 hours a week + the possibility of overtime.
Other news... the support staff are on strike! Hooray, hooray. No school today.
Can't think of much else to say. Will probably post again later tonight about the old patterns that are coming back to me, but then again maybe not. See y'all later
*hugs*

*insert nerd here*
(taken from Bash.org http://www.bash.org)
I see an iMac and I wanted painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn back
It's not a real computer, you just have to face the facts
When you're on a Macintosh, your soul has turned to black
I'm a nerd for even thinking that, but MY GOD

OH yes, I went there...
I went to an interview today... a French interview... and did well... shockingly... I hear back from them tomorrow.
The job is doing technical support and/or testing at Statistics Canada's tech support/testing department. roughly 13-14 hours a week at a decent payrate (maybe 10-12 an hour). Bilingual position, which apparently I do fulfill - just by living in Quebec and being able to discourse for an hour in french. More on that tomorrow night.
French orals coming up, along with the finals in a couple of weeks. I'm a bit nervous, especially about the oral, but considering how I did in the interview today, I don't think it will be a problem. I can speak french when I have to, I'm just nervous.
The website project is coming along... slowly. Our first official presentation of the site will be next Wednesday and I'm up into my eyeballs preparing everything we need.
I've been asked to work on another website project - redesigning PTS's website for volunteer hours (not that I need them - god bless Quebec) and MAYBE a sum of money somewhere between 100 and 300. Not bad for not much work.
I saw Harry Potter 4 - could have been better but could have been worse. It just feels... rushed, which is a feeling you don't get in the book. It's missing numerous small bits that are truly missed. But it wasn't a completley trashed version and there remains hope for 5, 6 and 7.
Love life? Mmmm... interesting possibilities. I'm keeping my mouth shut for now but will let people know if anything becomes... more interesting.
Anyways, I should go do some work for a bit before hitting the hay.
g'night & * hugs*

... oh my god...
I want a Mozilla Firefox (http://www.mozilla.org) t-shirt for Christmas. No really, I do. I think it's the sign that I am one of the biggest nerds on the planet. I also want Linux. Badly. Almost as much as I want sex. Just kidding :P. Nothing approaches my desire for Linux.
So, I've developed the top-ten list of signs that you're a nerd. Enjoy...
10. Your phone numbers look like 819.555.5555 instead of (819) 555-5555
09. Somebody says you're missing a semi-colon in your essay and you say "It's ENGLISH not C"
08. You begin your math test answer sheet with "import java.Math.answers.*;"
07. The items on your written to-do list start with and end with
06. You love penguins... and take it six steps too far
05. You have/extremely desire a t-shirt from thinkgeek.com or a similar website/store
04. When someone says the word window, you automatically think of the operating system.
03. You know why bash.org is named bash.org (and you know what bash.org is of course)
02. You know the tune of the Zelda theme by heart.
01. You wear glasses.
About here was where I abandoned the LiveJournal people. But here's some more for you...
goto http://www.newgrounds.com NOW and search for Magical Trevor by TheWeeble (there are three). Watch all of them. Now. NOW.
They're so addictive, it's not even funny.
Anyways, gotta go to bed. I got a math competition tomorrow.
I'm doing fine for everyone who was interested. I suppose the song lyrics that best describe this part of my life is "Say goodbye and walk away; don't look back..."
Anyways, I'm gone.

bleh... so tired...
I'm just waiting for the load of laundry I put in to be done - it contains my sheets which are essential for sleeping upon.
I'm rather exhausted - instead of seeing Saw II, Vicki, two friends of hers and I decided to walk around Aylmer, once her friends couldn't get into the movie as they were under 16 (since when have they carded for movies?)
The downside of which is my lips are incredibly chapped to the point of extreme pain at the moment. The upside is an evening with Vicki away from her mom.
It's kindof odd how no matter what else happens in my life, things keep turning to her. It is really a shame that her and I probably will never get to explore how far our relationship will go because of her issues (what they are, I can't say). It is mildly frustrating that she doesn't really want to talk about them and resolve them, rather she prefers just to say no. It is easy to say no though I suppose.
Well there's always other fish in the see. I'll keep ya informed ;) on how that goes - without too many details.
Just cross your fingers that I won't screw up my next relationship. But a little bit older and a little bit wiser I am. Moderate confidence have I in not screwing up as majorly as I have in the past.
Anyways - I'd love to tell you more and I'd love to bitch a bit about Vicki and my frustrations there but none of you really want to hear that and, in any case, there's no point in bitching. Vicki knows I'm here and knows how I feel, that's enough for now. As for the other people - well I don't want to open my mouth too soon do I?
And now I'm babbling. God, how am I going to fill the next 10-20 minutes while my laundry dries.
Everything goes well. Lots of work to do at school, lots of things to think about.
Anyways, I'm out for now - I'll find some other way to occupy the time.

GO SENS GO
Sens beat Boston 5-2. Woohoo.
I blocked a guy on MSN for being an arrogant asshole Habs fan who wanted nothing more than to rub it in my face that the habs are 1 point ahead of the Sens... even though the Habs have played three more games and the Sens beat the Habs when they played.
Asides from that, I still have spyware and will be completely reformatting my drive - possibly as early as this weekend. The plans?
I'm really thinking about going with Linux. Seriously and hugely. I'm starting to hate how all this anti-spyware stuff gets into Windows. So why not Linux?
Things going on in the Department of Love... good things, bad things, who knows. They involve seeing a movie tomorrow night and singing songs from Moulin Rouge in the road with a female.
Speaking of movies, tomorrow I'm off to see Saw 2 with the lovely Vicki (haha - good thing she doesn't read this, or she'd have my ass). Good times are expected with a chance of drool.
I'm done, so I'm off to bed as I have class and work to do tomorrow.

Some poetry
SOFT TONES
(November 6th, 2005)
How easy the lies come now
The unbiased point of view
How easily the past is forgotten
One that revolved around you
The nights have passed long ago
And here I sit and write
Of a time long since past
Tonight, a cold November night
Why write, you ask, of long ago
For memory, bad as it may be
Still sees what may have been
Memory could never forget thee
Yet, walking from day to day
You never could tell the lie
Dash of hope, no it cannot be
Taken away with a sigh
So tonight I'll sit and write
Of a girl I used to know
As tonight, outside and in my heart
It slowly begins to snow
Never again to speak of her
With soft tones begot of love
Only thoughts alone in nights dark hour
Gentle dreams of my lost dove
Leave me in my winter of discontent
Whos seeds I myself have sown
Now I must face my fear and guilt
And face my future alone
(November 6th, 2005)

Talk Hard
It's 9:40PM and time for another update.
I have a movie recommendation for you all. "Pump Up The Volume".
It's not a movie about guns or explosions. Nor is it a movie about love and drama. It's a movie about truth and it is an excellent movie. Get it. Now. At least rent it once. It's a decent ten years old, but EVEN IN TODAYS SOCIETY, the point holds.
The problem with today's society is a lot of the problems we all face in our day to day lives are not talked about in general society. They're matters left to the office of a psychiatrist or to whispered conversations in the dead of night with your best friend. Reality is an illusion, society is an illusion and how many of us put on our happy faces from one day to the next and march forward to face a new day?
But does it help?
How many organizations exist to help people? Sure, we have all these wonderful organizations out there, like Pink Triangle Services, the Youth Service Bureau and Kids Help Phone. And they help people, who are willing to go. But how effective are they? Here, in the land that is Canada, they do a pretty good job. I've only seen the homosexual parts of our social programs, but they're pretty decent - far above what I imagine exists in America. In Canada we are lucky enough to live in a decent society where a lot of the so-called "deviant" behaviours are not only tolerated but supported by the community (at least here in Ottawa, the nations official capital). But is everyone so lucky? Homosexuality, along with many forms of sexual deviance, is a criminal offense in some states and in many other countries. Now I've talked a lot about discrimination before, but it's not the only point. Take the Gothic style of dress. I've heard stories of people who are just so against people who are Goth that it sickens me. The qualities they assign us as a group are just out of this world and you have to wonder where they dream it up.
But beyond all of that, how about just the problems that come with being a teenager? The normal day to day stuff of finding a girlfriend (its hard isn't it) and just going on with all these confusing thoughts. Don't you just want to scream somedays?
That is the reason I love online journals. It gives people a chance to scream their opinions to the world and maybe only a very few people are listening, but PEOPLE STILL ARE LISTENING TO YOU. As is proved by you reading this, especially if you've never met me.
This movie, PUMP UP THE VOLUME, is about a kid who starts his own radio show with people who write in, so that he can talk about the problems in the world, give some advice and hope to people and so that people can know that they're not alone in the world. It's almost a shame that there is nothing like that on the web - when you think about how easy it is to set up your own website with some script to do that, it's very shocking.
But that is my spiel for today. Comments are, as always, welcomed by MSN, e-mail or the little comment button to your right.
